STUDIO

Welcome to Studio Fini, specializing in resorts, villas, marinas, and hotels in the Dominican Republic, promoting sustainability and preserving this beautiful country.

Studio Fini Architettura, led by Italian architect Gianfranco Fini and his daughters, Nicola and Francesca Fini, is an architecture and interior design firm founded in Rome in 1976, now based in the Dominican Republic. The studio operates with a philosophy centered on designing spaces and environments that thoughtfully cater to users' needs, applying innovative solutions and premium materials, all while respecting the surrounding landscape and natural environment.

Since its inception in Rome, Studio Fini has prioritized urban planning and sustainable tourism development. In 1978, the firm designed the master plan for the Costa Verde Tabatinga holiday complex in Brazil, a 700-acre coastal development in Santos, marking the start of an impressive portfolio of large-scale projects in Italy and internationally. Notable projects include the Marina of Porto Rotondo in Sardinia (Italy), Gouvia Marina in Corfu (Greece), the Marina of Casa de Campo (Dominican Republic), and the Marina of Puerto Bahia Samaná (Dominican Republic).

APPROACH

Our philosophy is rooted in Italian design culture and shaped by a deep understanding of the Caribbean: its light, climate, materials, rhythm, and natural beauty. We believe that architecture should not simply occupy a place, but listen to it, enhance it, and contribute to its long-term value.

For us, preserving the territory and developing it are not opposing ideas. Sustainable tourism begins when design respects the landscape while creating new possibilities for hospitality, culture, and human experience.

Every project is approached as a balance between vision and responsibility: refined spaces, thoughtful proportions, natural materials, and a constant dialogue between architecture, interiors, and environment. Our goal is to create places that feel timeless, authentic, and deeply connected to the spirit of the Dominican Republic.

Architect and Artist

Gianfranco Fini was born in Rome in 1936. After studying art in Rome and painting in Paris, he pursued architecture while remaining close to the Roman avant-garde scene of Schifano, Angeli, Festa, Kounellis, and Ceroli.
He began his career designing villas, shops, film sets, furniture, and interiors, including Valentino boutiques in Rome, Monaco, Paris, and New York.
With sculptor Mario Ceroli, he also designed opera sets for La Scala, La Fenice, the Verona Arena, and the Rome Opera House.
His architectural work later expanded to major projects in Italy, Greece, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.
Among his most significant works are Porto Rotondo’s Marina and the Casa de Campo Marina.
Today, after passing the studio’s leadership to his two daughters, he devotes himself entirely to painting.

JOBS

Working with Studio Fini means entering a complete design process, from the first vision to the final detail. We collaborate with clients, developers, and hospitality brands to create resorts, villas, marinas, hotels, and interiors that are elegant, functional, and deeply connected to their context.
Our approach combines architectural expertise, Italian design culture, and long experience in the Dominican Republic. We listen carefully, interpret each project’s potential, and transform ideas into spaces with identity, balance, and lasting value.

From master planning to interiors, from custom details to furniture selection, every element is developed with precision and care. We believe that good design is never generic: it must respond to the landscape, the climate, the lifestyle, and the people who will inhabit it.
Whether you are planning a private residence, a hospitality project, or a large-scale development, we can guide the process with clarity and vision.
Our work is rooted in beauty, responsibility, and a deep respect for place.
We build relationships based on trust, dialogue, and a shared commitment to quality. Let’s create spaces that are not only beautiful, but meaningful.
